In 1982 WJMA won the Associated Press award for best small market sports. In a take-off on the then popular "Oh What A Feeling" Toyota ad campaign, the sports staff was jumping for joy at Porterfield Park. The photographer may have been John DeVivi.
Left to right: Clint Estes, Sports Director Tom Graves, Tom Smith, Barry Penn Hollar, Sue Jarrett and George Fletcher. Clint did play-by-play on Orange Football, Tom did play-by-play when WJMA covered a Madison game, otherwise he did color on the Orange games. George did on the field reports during Orange football games. Tom Smith, Barry, and Sue were sports stringers covering, Greene, Louisa and Woodberry Forest sports for WJMA.

On the pressbox you can see the "Radio Orange" sign above the window where the broadcasters were seated and behind Sue's right arm you can see a hint of the older WJMA sign. The older sign was replaced when the station adopted the "Radio Orange" slogan and it was noticed that fans blocked the older sign during games.
There's a short audio clip of the 1982 season in the Audio Archive or at this web link.
