John Mahaney joined WJMA in April of 1957 as Sales Manager. Before joining WJMA he had been the Sports Editor of the Piqua, Ohio, Daily Call newspaper.
He preplaced Bob McCallum who left to attend graduate school at the University of Virginia. When John left WJMA he returned to Ohio to work with the Ohio Council of Retail Merchants. He was still there in July of 2008.
