Art Livick was WJMA's first General Manger. He was there at the first sign on September 10, 1949. Livick came to WJMA after a brief time at WTVR in Richmond and about a year at WJEJ in Hagerstown, MD. He introduced a character known as "The Old Timer" who was quite popular with listeners. There's a picture of The Old Timer on a WJMA Christmas card in the "Promo Items" gallery.
