Ed Painter, about 1965. He's in the control room of the WJMA Spicers Mill Road studios which at that time also held the AM transmitter.
Note that there are three turntables. At the time commercials and programs were played from records. Two turntables were used for music with the third one being available for other recorded material.
WJMA moved from studios at the DeVivi Restaurant to the building on Spicers Mill Road in late 1959.
After WJMA Ed worked at WISP in Kinston, NC. Later he worked at many Washington DC radio and TV stations including WMAL AM, WJLA TV, ABC TV, WTTG Fox network, and he was an engineer for Washington Redskins football games.
