This is another picture from June of 1972 showing how the Control Room looked at that time. The board is a QRK 8. The two cart machines to the right were made by Tapecaster. Further to the right is an equipment rack with two reel-to-reel tape recorders. Below them is a patch panel which could connect just about any two audio sources in the room. At the bottom of the rack were two FM receivers. In the days before satellite delivery of sports programs, games like UVa football & basketball, Orioles baseball and Redskins football were taken off the air from other stations.
Les Myers was the announcer on duty working the 11-to-4 shift. That's probably his lunch at the right on the low table.
